Dr Chakraborti has been overseeing my treatment for breast cancer for the last 6 months. I'm an older patient but despite my advanced years he has always gone out of his way to secure the best treatment for me. He is always approachable and has a very professional manner. At each appointment Dr Chakraborti ensures that I understand the treatment that is being offered and the possible side effects. When I have asked for clarification on a point this is done very thoroughly and with respect. I shall continue to have regular contact with Dr Chakraborti over the next two years and I have every confidence that I will continue to benefit from his excellent care.

I have just started to see Dr Chakraborti in the last couple of months; since being diagnosed with secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. At my first meeting, both he and his colleague Jenny seemed well informed of my history. Whilst I shared my more recent issues, symptoms and aims, he answers most of the issues on my preprepared list, leaving just one or two questions for clarity at the end as many of my fears had already been addressed throughout the conversation. His approach lead me to feel that I had been assessed in the round which was comforting for my initial appointment. A month after my first encounter the majority of my test results were back and he was able to articulate the next phase of the plan, explaining step by step the philosophy behind the approach. He seems to make time to discuss any problems and I didn’t feel rushed; which is very reassuring. He is encouraging with a dose of reality which gives me confidence, all delivered with a dose of empathy.

I have been seeing Dr Chakraborti for the last two years; since being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. Throughout that time he has supported me with full information on my condition and a plan to control it. He is always positive and encouraging and gives me confidence to face my situation. He never rushes our appointments, always making time to discuss any problems I may be having. From the moment I walk into his consulting room it is obvious he has read my notes and is fully up-to-date on what stage my treatment is at, together with what needs to happen next; which is very reassuring. I see Dr Chakraborti as epitomising all that is good in the NHS and is a real asset.
